Pokee Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Pokee (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the Pokee mobile application and related web pages at pokee.me (collectively, the “Service”).

We take your privacy seriously. Please read this Policy carefully. By using Pokee, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Information You Provide Directly

• Profile information: your name, age, city, height, photos, and links to your other social media or content.
• Account credentials: managed through Apple Sign In or email authentication.
• Communications: any messages you send to us, including support requests and abuse reports.

Information Collected Automatically

• Device identifiers: a unique anonymous identifier assigned to your device for authentication purposes.
• Push notification tokens: provided by Apple Push Notification service to allow us to send you notifications.
• Usage data: actions you take in the app, such as pokes sent and received, but not the content of any communication outside the app.
• Subscription data: subscription status and history, managed via RevenueCat and the Apple App Store.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect precise location data.
• We do not collect contacts from your address book.
• We do not collect financial information; all payments are processed by Apple.
• We do not collect biometric data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and maintain the Service, including displaying your profile to other users.
• Authenticate you and secure your account.
• Send you push notifications when someone pokes you or expresses mutual interest.
• Process and manage your subscription if you choose to subscribe to Pokee Premium.
• Respond to your support requests and address abuse reports.
• Enforce our Terms of Service and protect the safety of our users.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Your Information

Your profile information (name, age, city, height, photos, and links you choose to share) is publicly visible to anyone who visits your unique profile link at pokee.me/[your-handle].

Beyond what you choose to display publicly on your profile, we share information only as follows:

With Service Providers

We use the following third-party service providers to operate Pokee. They have access to information only as needed to perform their services for us:

• Supabase: hosts our database and handles authentication and file storage.
• RevenueCat: manages subscription state and provides analytics about subscription performance.
• Apple: provides the App Store, in-app purchase processing, and push notification delivery.
• Vercel: hosts our web profile pages at pokee.me.

For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, court order, or government request; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pokee, our users, or others; or to investigate suspected fraud or abuse.

In Connection with a Business Transfer

If Pokee is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We Do Not Sell Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will permanently remove your profile data, photos, pokes, and push notification tokens within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal, accounting, or safety reasons.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the Pokee app by going to Settings and tapping “Delete Account.” This will permanently remove your profile and associated data.

Push Notifications

You can disable push notifications at any time through your device’s Settings app.

Access, Correction, and Portability

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or request a copy of your personal information. To make such a request, email us at support@pokee.me. We will respond within a reasonable time frame as required by applicable law.

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete that information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information.

European and UK Residents (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data, as well as the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our lawful basis for processing is your consent and our legitimate interest in operating the Service.

6. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children’s Privacy

Pokee is not directed to, and does not knowingly collect personal information from, children under the age of 17. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 17, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 17 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@pokee.me.

8. International Data Transfers

Pokee is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

9. Third-Party Links

Pokee allows you to add links to your other social profiles (such as Instagram, TikTok, or Snapchat). When you click a link to a third-party site, you leave Pokee and are subject to that site’s privacy policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other reasonable means and update the Effective Date at the top of this Policy. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
